Hume council has removed over 950 trees as part of its storm clean up efforts.

Many parts of the municipality were impacted by storm weather on Friday, October 29.

In a post to its Facebook page, the council said that as of early December, officers had resolved close to 1100 requests for clean up support.

“This includes removing over 950 trees – more than we’d usually remove in a year,” the post said.

“We still have close to 1000 requests to action.

“Due to this ongoing workload and the availability of our contractors, non-urgent requests – which may include branches on the nature strips or trees and branches down in your local parks – will continue to be resolved over the coming months.”

In the post, the council said if residents have made a request that is yet to be resolved, officers would action it “as soon as possible”.

Additionally, the council will be offering two additional free mulching days this month for tree branches.

The service is available on Saturday, December 18, at Sunbury Parks and Services Depot, and on Sunday, December 19, at Council Parks and Services Depot, Coolaroo.
