A Craigieburn mum was interrupted during her gardening this morning to learn that she had won $1 million in the lottery.

Speaking to The Lott upon learning of her division one prize – worth $1,012,907 – the woman said it was “overwhelming”.

“I had absolutely no idea,” she said.

“I’ve just been working in the garden all morning.

“I’m a millionaire!? This is insane.

“What a way to end the year!”

The Craigieburn resident said she would be putting the funds to good use, after a lengthy celebratory lunch.

“We can help the kids so much more now,” she said.

“We can retire from work now too!

“We’ve been wanting to retire for ages because both of our jobs are stressful.

“Life’s too short, now we can make the most of life and focus on the things that really matter.

“We’ve always wanted a caravan so we could travel around Australia.

“I’m sure that’ll be in our retirement plans!”

The winning numbers in the draw on Saturday, December 11, 2021, were 39, 27, 37, 35, 12 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 2.
