A pop-up vaccination clinic will be running at Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre and Roxburgh Park Shopping Centre as part of a an expansion of the state’s COVID-19 vaccination program.

The Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre clinic will run until March 6, while vaccinations will be available at Roxburgh Park Shopping centre in the evening from March 3-6.

Health Minister Martin Foley said pop-up and mobile vaccination clinics would be established at multicultural facilities, churches, temples and mosques, sporting games, pools, festivals and more.

Additionally, the state’s in-home vaccination program has expanded to include children. This will specifically help children with special needs, who may not be able to attend a vaccination hub or are likely to respond better to a familiar or low-stimulation environment.

The in-home vaccination service has already begun vaccinating small numbers of children, focusing on those who have an injury, chronic illness, physical disability or mobility issues, or mental health or behavioural issues.

The in-home service has also expanded to include third dose vaccines for any Victorian aged 70 and over who can’t travel to a centre, GP or pharmacy.

“Whether it’s in the comfort of your own home, at half-time during the game, or a temple, church or mosque – we are taking vaccines to wherever is most convenient for you and your community,” Mr Foley said.

“Our dedicated health professionals will be on hand to vaccinate you or your child in the comfort of your home ifyou need it, providing another option for families with access barriers.”
