Green Collect has surpassed two million drink containers returned to their Container Deposit Scheme depots in Melbourne’s north.

Green Collect is a certified social enterprise and registered charity, and they run two Victorian Container two depots across Campbellfield and Coburg North.

Chief executive Sally Quinn said the depots have brought upon some great employment opportunities.

“One of the visions that Green Collect has for these sites is to see employment opportunities and training opportunities for people previously excluded in mainstream employment,” she said.

“That’s something which really adds a deeper level of meaning to everything that is happening at these depots.

“One of the things that Green Collect has done over the past 20 years is innovate and move into new green industries, so when we heard about this scheme we wanted to be a part of it. We

saw the possibility for jobs growth and social impact, as well as shoring up Green Collect’s role as a key provider of circular economy services across Victoria.”

“It’s more than numbers. What we see here at our CDS Vic Depots are values being lived out.

Values of inclusivity and values of sustainability. Whenever you come to a Green Collect site there’s a feeling of being a part of something exciting and being a part of something meaningful.”

Both sites have been custom-designed to process large commercial quantities of eligible drink containers quickly and efficiently, allowing bag drop-offs and direct bank payments, perfect for sporting groups, family gatherings and school clean-ups.

The CDS Vic Campbellfield Depot operated by Green Collect at 13 Fordson Road, Campbellfield, is open from Monday to Friday from 9am – 3pm, Saturday from 9am to 2pm and Sunday from 9am to 12pm.
