Two hundred full time positions at La Trobe University may be lost under a change proposal, which started an organisation-wide consultation process today.
According to La Trobe, the change proposal would include “significant changes” to the university’s structure if adopted.
“We recognise that the proposed scope of this change will be a challenging time for our staff and we are providing a wide range of support during this time,” a statement said.
“It is not currently possible to confirm exactly how many staff will be made redundant.”
A proposed 300 new roles would arise under the changes, with La Trobe stating that these could “offer opportunities for some staff displaced in the new structure”.
The consultation will take place over a three week period, followed by a period of analysis and review.
