Hume United Soccer Club can seal its future in State League 2 north west this Saturday, with a draw against Moreland United enough to avoid the relegation zone.
United is on 20 points, six ahead of 11th-placed La Trobe University, with two weeks to go. At the other end of the table, North Sunshine Eagles and Corio are in the box seat to be promoted to State League 1 north west next season.
Yarraville, in third place, is still a chance for promotion but will need to win both matches and hope the Eagles and Corio lose or draw their remaining games. Westvale is in fourth position, while Sporting Whittlesea is sixth.
In State League 3 north west, the Essendon Royals have already secured the title and are 11 points clear of Old Carey. Two points separate Old Carey and Essendon United. Altona City and Lalor United are still a mathematical chance to finish second. The Western Eagles and Whittlesea United will finish in the middle of the table.
North City Wolves and Williamstown are ninth and tenth. Both could be relegated if the last-placed Brunswick Zebras win both matches. Only one team will be relegated after the withdrawal of the Northern Roosters, with the 10th-placed side to enter a playoff to stay in State League 3 north west.
In State League 4 north west, Upfield is 10 points clear with two matches to play and will be promoted to State League 3 north west. Meadow Park Eagles are already resigned to being relegated to State League 5 north and will be joined by the Northern Falcons, Watsonia Heights or Parkville Panthers.
In State League 5 north, Greenvale could secure top spot and promotion with a win this weekend against bottom side Mitchell Rangers. The fight for the second promotion spot will come down to Northern United and Mill Park.
