Glenroy’s batsmen were thanking their bowling teammates after a stunning performance in the second innings turned the grand final on its head.
Avondale Heights, dismissed for 131 in its first innings, took control of the game by bowling out Glenroy for a paltry 82.
Both teams were forced to use slower bowlers due to a wet patch on the pitch, and Avondale Heights took the advantage, thanks largely to Sathpath Kamburugamuwa, who was outstanding with 6-38 from 17.2 overs.
But at stumps on day two Glenroy had reduced Avondale Heights to 5-20, its top five batsmen all back in the sheds and two new batsmen at the crease.
