The winners of the Northern Business Achievement Awards for 2013 have been announced.

Melbourne’s northern businesses, educational institutes, local government and community gathered at a special breakfast for the awards.

The 2013 Business of the Year Award sponsored by the Victoria Government was awarded to Rutledge AV, for business excellence across all areas of operations through technology; commitment to growth and meeting the needs of the customer.

Other awards presented at the breakfast were:

• The Sustainability and Environment Award sponsored by Telstra which recognised sustainability and environmental best practices was awarded to GJK Facility Services for their commitment to the environment including ISO 14001 accreditation. 

• The Export Award proudly sponsored by Innovativity recognised Cornerstone Solutions for the development of a unique product and having taken the innovative steps to develop exports in to large global; markets such as the USA.

• The Customer Service Award sponsored by MatchWorks which recognised excellence in customer service was awarded to Rutledge AV.

• The Innovation and Enterprise Award sponsored by AusIndustry recognised significant innovation and enterprise initiatives.  This award was presented to Della Rosa Foods for their commitment to investment in capital equipment and people for increased product innovation and process improvement. 

• The Industry-Education Engagement Award sponsored by Northern Melbourne RDA recognised businesses that excel in the area of education and workplace learning was awarded to Rutledge AV for the development of award winning interactive AV applications for education.

• The Human Resources Award sponsored by M+K Lawyers recognises the investment in employee engagement and development. This award was presented to Centorrino Technologies for high level staff development and employee engagement including a formal “Buddy” system.

• The Workplace Diversity Award sponsored by the Centre for Dialogue recognises companies who value in a culturally diverse workplace and was awarded to Aegis for initiatives that celebrate diversity individually and in groups.
