Katandra Rise residential estate will get a taste of community gardening in a Family Fun Day pop-up garden on October 13.
The pop-up session is a forerunner to the multi-purpose communal garden due to open at the Doreen estate next month.
Designed by landscape designer Darren Taitoko, the final garden will feature raised plots which residents can tend on their own or share with neighbours to grow flowers, herbs or vegetables.
There are 50 residential lots at Katandra Rise and the number is expected to increase to 500. Katandra Rise development and marketing manager Ashley Lewis said the property group wanted to expand the garden as the community grew.
