A Jacana house has been severely damaged after it went up in flames early on Friday.
Police spokeswoman Belle Nolan said emergency forces were called to the vacant house on Pascoe Vale Road about 12.40am on Friday, and found the house engulfed in flames.
“It looks like the fire gutted the house,” she said.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade communications controller Ian Morris said 25 firefighters took 20 minutes to control the blaze raging through the single storey brick home.
There was no one home at the time, Mr Morris said.
The damage to the house is estimated at almost $200,000.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious
