Ten‐man Whittlesea Ranges scored in the 88th minute to sneak a point in the National Premier League 2 match against Melbourne City at Epping Stadium on Saturday.

After Ranges had equalised against Werribee City in injury time in the previous match, a shot by captain Naum Sekulovski deflected off striker George Slefendorfas and into the City net.

Ranges were on the back foot from the eighth minute, when City’s Christopher Cristaldo scored from the rebound after a saved penalty.

The goal seemed to switch on Ranges, who then controlled the rest of the first half without any luck.

And although Ranges continued the momentum into the second half, they went a man down when Tobias Haegele received a straight red card for a dangerous tackle.

Ranges had the ball in the net again in the 94th.

HUME City made it two wins from as many NPL games with a 2‐1 victory over Avondale Heights at Knights Stadium on Friday night.

Theo Markelis opened the scoring in the 40th minute and Avondale Heights equalised through Jamie Cummins after 66.

Kym Harris scored City’s winner in the 70th minute but it was ruled offside.
