Old Paradians had little trouble getting past Mill Park in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association Money Shield.

Needing 149 for victory, the Old Paradians had the ideal start with the bat with the opening pair of Matthew Cheung (32) and Hasitha Samarasinghe (42) putting on 70 get the side nearly half way there.

Mill Park then took 3-23 to give it a bit of hope, but the Old Paradians settled and chased down the runs in the 44th over to finish 3-152.

Ravjit Dosanjh finished 37 not out, while Shaun Barker was 24 not out.

The win keeps Old Paradians undefeated and on top of the ladder.

It sits percentage ahead of Lalor Stars which just got over the line against Greensborough.

The Stars made 5-217 on day one, before restricting Greensborough to 203.

Bundoora United had a big win against Mernda. Defending 5-286, United bowled Mernda out for 105.

Scott Barnett took three wickets for United, which sits 2-2 in fourth spot.

In the Barclay Shield, Epping’s total of 9-267 was too much for Macleod.

Epping bowling Macleod out for 136, with Robert Tinsley and Billy McKeown taking three wickets each.

Bundoora defeated Riverside in their clash, bowling Riverside out for 166, just 21 runs short of victory.

Epping and Bundoora sit second and third on the ladder, both with a 3-1 record.
