Loche departs Craigieburn City

Inaugural Craigieburn City men’s state league coach Michael Loche has made the decision to step down from his role effectively immediately.

Loche took on the coaching role at Craigieburn City in 2016 and has helped the club rise through the ranks.

On Tuesday, the club posted on social media that Loche had resigned from his position effective immediately.

“Michael is taking a well-earned rest, and as he has done throughout his tenure, putting the team and club first,” the club said. “He cited ‘the boys need a different voice’.

“Michael has been instrumental in shaping our senior men’s program. Joining as the inaugural state league coach in 2016, Michael achieved three promotions from state league 5 to state league 2, in a short (Covid-affected) period.

“Along with his on-field success, Michael built an inclusive and tight-knit culture with the many players he coached.”

The club said with Loche’s family ties to the club and exceptional relationships he built over his time, that he wouldn’t ever be too far away.

“We wish Michael the best in whatever he decides to do moving forward. ”

Craigieburn City currently sits in ninth spot in state league 2 north-west with a 2-2-4 record.
