Jungho Kim claims second straight award

Sporting Whittlesea’s Jungho Kim was the run away winner in the FFV state league 2 north-west best and fairest award.

Kim polled 39 votes to finish nine votes clear of Corio’s Vedran Stojanovic.

It’s a second straight best and fairest award for Kim, who won the state league 1 north-west award last season while playing with Sydenham Park.

Kim has previously played professionally in Korea and Croatia and played in the National Premier League.

As well as playing for Sporting Whittlsesea this year, he runs the club’s junior boys program.

Mill Park’s Arnold Konjol took home the state league 4 north best and fairest award.

Konjol polled 26 votes, to finish four votes clear of Boroondara Eagles Steven Clark.

Lalor United’s Igorce Kolevski also polled 22 votes but was ineligible after being suspended during the season.

Craigieburn City’s Jordan Connerton capped off his season with yet another award in state league 5 north.

Connerton, who led the division’s goal scoring with 55 goals, won the best and fairest award by a massive 10 votes.

He finished on 28 votes, with Bundoora United’s Christopher Scavo next best on 18 votes.

Plenty Valley Lions Colin Habgood rounded out the places, finishing on 16 votes.

It tops off a good year for Connerton in his first season with Craigieburn, with the club claiming the state league 5 north title and promotion for next season.

Hume City’s Ebru Hasan claimed the women’s state league 4 north best and fairest award to go along with her golden boot award.
