Hume City remains without a win

Hume City remains without a win after four rounds of the National Premier League season.

Facing Avondale, which was coming off a rare loss, on Saturday, Hume had their work set out for them.

Avondale scored in the 27th minute through Stefan Valentini and doubled the lead just after the break through Liam Boland. Substitute Stefan Zinni sealed the win when he scored in injury time.

Round four of the NPL was highlighted by an incredible comeback win from Melbourne Knights, who conceded two goals in the first 25 minutes of the game and found the lead in the dying stages at Knights Stadium.

Knights were stunned early as Bentleigh Greens came out in full force although the fight back was kick started through Mohammad Sumaoro, who brought his team within a goal just before halftime.

The equalizer came in the 66th minute through Gian Albano’s brilliance, dribbling through defenders and curling a ball into the back net in style.

About 17 minutes later it was Gian Albano who received the ball in the clear from a cut back and banged it into the goal to give his side the lead.

It was three goals straight that completed the incredible comeback and win for the Knights, putting them in 7th position on the ladder with two wins.

In other matches Green Gully recorded a 1-0 win over Dandenong City through the class of Nahuel Bonada scoring the goal.

The win marks Green Gully’s third for the season, placing them in third on the ladder.

St Albans went down 4-1 to South Melbourne on Sunday at home although the Saints created chances to almost level the game when they were 2-1 down.

The Saints went into halftime 2-0 down and started the second half well with a goal although South Melbourne were able to run over the Saints in the end.
