Hume City Broncos in heartbreaking loss

Hume City Broncos lost a thriller to Corio Bay despite a shooting display from Lee Jika in Big V basketball men’s state championship on Saturday night.

The Broncos led for most of the match but lost 88-86. Jika shot 11 three-pointers, a shooting percentage of 50 per cent from beyond the arc, on his way to 43 points.

He also had nine rebounds.

The Broncos women had an easy victory over Sherbrooke, while Craigieburn’s men and women won their matches. It was a thriller for the women’s side, which beat Sunbury Jets 67-65.

Giulia Dinunzio top-scored with 26 points.
