Westmeadows’ women’s first XI team has kept their remarkable record alive with the side making its fifth grand final in as many years.

The Warriors women have played in at least one grand final every season, since the 2017-18 season when they first fielded a women’s side.

On Sunday, the first XI won through the Victorian Turf Cricket Association women’s grand final, beating Altona Roosters.

The Warriors batted first making 2-106 from their overs. Natalie Linton and De’arne Devereux-Arena scored 33 apiece in the innings.

The Roosters struggled with just one player reaching double figures.

The Roosters were restricted to 9-40 off 15.2 overs, in an innings which included five ducks.

Emily Findlay took two wickets, as did captain Caetlyn Twentyman.

The Warriors will face Caroline Springs in the grand final on Sunday at 10am at Abefeldie.

Meanwhile the Warriors’ men’s side suffered a loss to Haig-Fawkner in the VTCA senior division.

The Warriors made 4-195 from their overs, with Clayton Campbell and Tarek Moughanie both scoring half centuries.

Haig made the runs with ease, finishing 2-196 from just 35.1 overs.

The Warriors sit eighth with two rounds remaining.
