Roxburgh Park-Broadmeadows Cricket Club skipper Mitch Johnstone predicted it would be his side’s batting that would be its downfall, and so it proved in a 36-run loss to Yarraville CC.
The loss, coupled with Altona’s three-wicket win against Endeavour Hills, pushed the Falcons out of the final six.
The Falcons restricted Yarraville to 7-166, with Mitch Streiff taking 3-32.
They started well with the bat, reaching 0-53, but from there they collapsed to be all out 130.
Opener Kurtley Brandt’s 29 was the top score.
