Whittlesea Secondary College will be revamped, with the Labor and Liberal parties both pledging to upgrade the school’s ageing buildings.
Labor has promised $11.7 million to upgrade and modernise the school.
It said the funding would help give students and teachers the best learning spaces.
The funding is part of Labor’s pledge to invest up to $850 million for works at 89 primary and secondary schools.
The Liberal Party has promised $14.5 million for refurbishment works, expanded hospitality facilities and a new robotics lab.
Liberal leader Matt Guy said upgrading Whittlesea Secondary College will secure its future by ensuring it remains a quality education option for families in the north.
“With so many families moving into the northern suburbs, this is a necessary and sensible commitment that needs to be done urgently,” Mr Guy said.
“This significant investment under a government I lead will deliver better facilities for current and future students and the Whittlesea Secondary College community.”
