Town Hall Broadmeadows to turn blue for World Diabetes Day

Town Hall Broadmeadows will be lit in blue to mark World Diabetes Day on Monday, November 14.

The blue circle is the global symbol for diabetes awareness and the logo for World Diabetes Day.

Town Hall Broadmeadows was chosen to be illuminated because of the high prevalence of diabetes in the suburb.

According to Diabetes Victoria, about 7020 Broadmeadows residents, or about 8.3 per cent of the population, live with diabetes.

Diabetes is the fast-growing chronic health condition in Victoria, overtaking other conditions such as cancer and heart disease, and it is a very serious and complex set of conditions.
