Two arrested over alleged burglary and police car ramming in Epping

Two men have been arrested following an alleged burglary and police car ramming in Epping on Sunday.

Security staff notified police of a burglary at a High Street department store about 4.30am.

Upon their arrival at the store, police noticed an vehicle allegedly attempting to flee the scene.

Police said a police car moved to block the vehicle’s exit and was allegedly rammed.

Police allege  the car attempted to ram the police car a second time before it was struck by a second police car.

The alleged driver, a 27-year-old Brookfield man, was arrested. Two other occupants of the car fled the scene.

Police said the dog squad and air wing became involved in the search, with Critical Incident Response team members arresting a 35-year-old Coolaroo man nearby.

Police are still searching for a third man.

Two police officers sustained minor injuries but were not taken to hospital.
