Tullamarine vehicle full of seized items

A Tullamarine man has been charged with possession of unregistered firearms and drugs after search on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has been charged with committing an indictable offence whilst on bail, in addition to two counts of possessing firearm where a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) applies, prohibited person possessing firearm, two counts of possess unregistered firearm, and possession of drug of dependence.

An FPO compliance search was conducted at a Mossfield Mews address, Tullamarine on Tuesday afternoon.

During the search, investigators located and seized a loaded semi-automatic pistol, a folding ‘switch gun’ revolver and ammunition in a concealed compartment underneath the centre console of a vehicle.

Also seized from the vehicle was a significant quantity of both handgun and longarm ammunition and approximately three litres of what appears to be GHB.

A further FPO compliance search was conducted at a residential address in Glenroy, where members of the VIPER Taskforce seized a small amount of explosives.

He was remanded overnight to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Investigations are ongoing.
