Update: Seventeen new COVID-19 cases have been linked to the MyCentre cluster in Broadmeadows.

Chief health officer Brett Sutton said a number of those 17 cases connected to the childcare centre were day 13 tests.

There were 76 new locally acquired cases of the virus reported today.

Professor Sutton said 24 of the total cases from today live within the Hume municipality.

“Wherever you live in Victoria… the consequence of leaving your guard down, even for a short period of time, is really significant,” Professor Sutton said.

“It could mean the difference between you containing it to yourself and nobody else, or introducing it to those you love, your extended family, your friends.”

Premier Daniel Andrews said he would announce the thresholds for the state to meet for easing of restrictions tomorrow.

“[These will be] modest changes that can hopefully be meaningful in people’s lives,” Mr Andrews said.

“We have to aim to get these numbers incredibly low.”
