Teenager arrested over December jewellery burglary

Detectives have arrested a teenager following an investigation into the alleged theft of $15,000 of jewellery in Melbourne last year.

A 16-year-old boy from Thomastown was arrested after he presented to Epping Police Station yesterday afternoon.

Investigators have been told a man entered a store on Little Collins Street about 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 30 and allegedly selected a bracelet before paying for the item using a fraudulent credit card.

The teenager is being interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons for obtaining property by deception, producing false documentation and making and using false documents.
