Two charged over alleged Kalkallo burglary

A 19-year-old man from Broadmeadows and a 14-year-old boy from Wallan have been charged following an alleged burglary in Kalkallo on Tuesday.

Police allege two males went to a property on Graves Court, Kalkallo on Tuesday, April 6 in a stolen vehicle about 7pm, before forcing their way inside.

There was no one home at the time of the incident.

Police said the man and the boy were arrested on Wednesday about 1am.

Police allege the pair were in a vehicle containing stolen property.

Both have been charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The 14-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

The Broadmeadows man was bailed to appear at the Broadmeadows Magistrate Court at a later date.

Police believe the offenders were door knocking in the area prior to the alleged break-in.

Police said they are aware of community concerns following an incident in Kalkallo on April 3 in which a man was allegedly stabbed and hit by a car.

They said the two incidents are not connected.
