Road works and public transport disruptions

The M80 Ring Road will close Greensborough-bound between Edgars and Dalton roads overnight this week.

The Department of Transport said the closure would allow work to take place on the M80 Upgrade.

The department said works to widen the freeway and ramps will close the section of the M80 on Wednesday, December 1, and Thursday, December 2, from 10pm to 5am each night.

Detours will be available via Edgars Road, Mahoneys Road and Dalton Road.

Additionally, the Edgars Road Altona-bound entry ramp to the M80 is closed until Saturday, December 11, for ramp works, the department said.

A detour is available via Mahoneys Road or Edgars Road.

Meanwhile, Level Crossing Removal Project works will mean buses replace trains on the Mernda line between Parliament, Clifton Hill and Reservoir stations from 9pm tonight, Monday, November 29, until the last service on Thursday, December 2.

The department said it is to allow for level crossing removal and line upgrade works, and have advised passengers to allow extra travel time.
