Broadmeadows police have a launched an operation targeting traffic issues across Hume.
Known as Operation Northern Lights, the operation will target speeding, distraction, drink driving and any other issues that come to the attention of police in the coming months.
It will be conducted by officers from Broadmeadows police station and Fawkner Highway Patrol.
A statement on the Eyewatch – Hume Police Service Area Facebook page said the ultimate goal was to reduce and eliminate fatal and serious injury collisions.
