Builders appointed for five new schools

Builders have been appointed to construct five schools set to open in Hume and Whittlesea next year.

Education Minister James Merlino announced that builders had been appointed for 23 schools the state government plans to open in 2023.

Among the schools is Hayes Hill Primary School in Donnybrook, Merrifield West Primary School and Wollert West Primary School which will be built by Kane Constructions.

Mount Ridley Special School will be built by Ireland Brown Construction, while Wollert East Secondary College will be built by ADCO Construction.
