An Epping woman and a Lalor man have been charged after more than $100,000 worth of methylamphetamine seized following a major seven-month drug trafficking investigation in Melbourne’s north.

Six search warrants were executed last week in Lalor, Epping and Reservoir with police seizing more than 370 grams of methylamphetamine which they allege was being sold to the community.

Also located during the seizures was more than $38,000 in cash, a baton, Taser, imitation firearm, slingshot, money counter, allegedly stolen identification and several mobile phones.

A 39-year-old Epping woman has been charged with eight offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime and possessing identification information.

Two Reservoir men were also charged with a number of offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.

All three were remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 7.

A 33-year-old Lalor man has been charged with trafficking methylamphetamine and possessing methylamphetamine and cannabis and was bailed to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on July 22.

A 28-year-old Dandenong man and 30-year-old Lalor woman were released pending summons.

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Jordan said we all know the devastating impact ice has on the entire community.

“That’s why we are absolutely committed to removing it from the hands of people who are not only selling it to vulnerable Victorians but also profiting heavily from it,” he said.

“Detectives have worked tirelessly on this investigation over many months, but we know our work here is not yet done.”
