A man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into a drive-by shooting and suspicious car fire in October last year.

Echo Taskforce detectives executed a search warrant yesterday morning and arrested a man at a Wollert residence.

A 20-year-old was interviewed before being released, pending further inquiries.

Police said a number of electronic devices and weapons were seized during the execution of the warrant.

The investigation follows an incident at a Washington Street address in Dallas about 7pm on Tuesday, October 27 2020.

Police said a black Mitsubishi ASX approached three men outside the property and a firearm was discharged.

No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

Police located the vehicle after it was set alight in Thomastown East Reserve later that evening.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed or have dashcam footage of a black Mitsubishi ASX driving erratically, or who has further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
