Motorists are being advised that Sydney Road Greensborough-bound entry ramp to the M80 Ring Road will close overnight throughout the week.
The Department of Transport said the ramp will close between 9pm and 5am nightly between Monday and Thursday.
The closure is to allow for freeway upgrade works.
Detours will be in place via Mahoneys and Edgars roads during this time, the department said.
Those wishing to reach the Hume Freeway should take the Hume Highway and Cooper Street.
The M80 Upgrade project will widen the freeway and ramps, as well as install a new freeway management system along 38 kilometres of road between Laverton North and Greensborough.
