Girl Guides from across Hume are hitting the streets to mark the 60th anniversary of Girl Guide biscuits.
Guides groups from Craigieburn and Sunbury have been selling the biscuits for the past month ahead of National Girl Guide Biscuit Day last Saturday.
Sunbury Guides leader Annette Swaffield said the biscuits remained popular with the community, with new varieties, including gluten-free, becoming available.
Ms Swaffield said Guide families were allocated a couple of cartons of biscuits to sell, with some Guides selling them door-to-door while others sell them to family and friends.
She said the money raised in Sunbury would help 13 girls attend the international Guides jamboree in Sydney in September.
“They will get the chance to meet Guides from all over the world and will have the opportunity to try different things, including climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge,” she said.
“Being exposed to different things and being away from home for a week will be a great experience for them.”
