Hume Anglican Grammar pupils journey to Neverland

Hume Anglican Grammar pupils will be transported to Neverland when they take to the stage later this month for their production Peter Pan Jr.

Primary pupils from the school’s Mickleham and Donnybrook campuses have spent the past eight months learning their lines and perfecting their songs and dance routines.

Director Lynda O’Brien said almost 500 pupils would take part in the performances across three nights.

“The story of Peter Pan tells us that it is never too late for all of us to love and nurture our sense of joy and excitement about the world we live in,” she said.

“That imagination is a powerful tool to help us all create powerful communities of diversity and inclusion.

“Our 46 lead actors, chosen from years 3 to 6, have learned their lines, studied their characters and rehearsed their songs. Many of these talented students are sure to go on to future careers in the performing arts.

“They have displayed maturity beyond their years to prepare, once more affirming the joy that comes from a collaborative musical experience.”

Peter Pan Jr will be performed at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre, South Morang from August 21- 23.
