Greenvale driver double the legal limit

A Broadmeadows man crashed his car in Greenvale last night, while allegedly double the legal blood alcohol limit.

Fawnker Highway Patrol officers were called to the intersection of Mickleham Road and Dellamore Boulevard about 11.15pm following reports of a collision between a red Nissan wagon and a white Ford wagon.

Police said the Nissan flipped onto its side as a result of the collision.

The driver, a 22-year-old Broadmeadows man, and his two passengers were able to get out of the vehicle and were uninjured.

The driver of the Ford, a 26-year-old Greenvale man, was trapped inside his vehicle.

He was freed by emergency services and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Broadmeadows man had a preliminary breath test at the scene, and was requested to have an evidentiary test, allegedly returning a reading of 0.124.

He is expected to be charged with numerous traffic offences including reckless conduct endangering serious injury and drink driving.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with dashcam footage from the scene is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report via www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
