Man interviewed following Epping 6 year old struck by vehicle

The 25-year-old Epping man handed himself in to police Saturday evening.

Police have interviewed a man in relation to an incident where a 6-year-old was struck by a car on Tuesday, March 9.

The boy had exited a vehicle that was parked along Brush Road about 8.30pm.

Greensborough Highway Patrol members believe the boy walked to the front of the vehicle and onto the road when a car drove past and allegedly struck him.

The 6-year-old, from Epping, was transported to hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

The driver of the offending vehicle stopped and provided details but left the scene before police arrived. Inquiries found the details given were incorrect.

The vehicle was located on private property in Eden Park on Friday afternoon.

A 25-year-old Epping man has been interviewed after handing himself in to police Saturday evening.

The man has been released and is expected to be charged on summons with traffic-related offences.
