GOTAFE’s mobile campus will be coming to Merrifield City in Mickleham next week, providing locals with portable education.

The mobile campus aims to provide convenient access to education, training and skills and job centre services for the local community.

It is a fully accessible, renovated semi-trailer featuring a client reception area, a counselling space, workshop and seminar space, and a community computer lab.

The campus will be parked at Merrifield City on Donnybrook Road for one week.

Centre manager Kylie Robertson said the centre was thrilled to welcome the campus.

“We are committed to meeting the needs of our diverse and rapidly growing community,

which we feel so proud to be an integral part of,” Ms Robertson said.

“We are delighted to be bringing this fantastic initiative to Merrifield City in conjunction with our joint venture partners MAB Corporation and Gibson Property Corporation.”

GOTAFE chief executive Travis Heeney said the campus was committed to support the local community.

“At the heart of the mobile campus is the ability to bridge the gap between our communities and deliver critical employment and education services, regardless of location, access and financial barriers,” he said.

The mobile campus will cater for about 200,000 northern Victorians over three years, including prospective students, jobseekers, and industry and community groups.

It will be at Merrifield City from Monday, November 22 until Monday, November 29.
