Craigieburn’s new most expensive house

A Craigieburn house has sold for a record amount, making it the most expensive residence in the suburb.

The property at 30 Excelsior Heights sold last weekend for $1.59 million.

The 790 square metre property includes five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and five car spaces.

It is built with solid limestone extracted from Mount Gambier, creating heritage value.

Skad Real Estate agent Rahul Malik said the property was deserving of the price tag.

“The property deserves the price tag mainly due to [its] solid limestone build,” Mr Malik said.

“[There is a] public view picnic area (behind the property) where you can see and experience an unobstructed view of Melbourne’s CBD… and in the east you can see the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and all suburbs in the middle, providing a 300 degree view.

“Imagine all [of] that… is from the property itself – main entrance, side retreat and the balcony – all providing lording views.”

Mr Malik said buyers can expect prices in Craigieburn and the surrounding area to continue to climb, although not to the Excelsior Heights’ property benchmark.

“Prices will definitely increase… driven by demand and low interest rates for everyone to find a home within the suburb,” he said.

“The suburb is developed and surrounded by developing suburbs such as Mickleham, Kalkallo, Donnybrook, [and] Wollert but everyone tries to find their piece of cake in Craigieburn first before looking around.

“This sale is a benchmark and a unique property which created history but the demand from regular-sized properties will keep up the rise now and in the near future.”

Mr Malik said he was showing another property in Craigieburn this weekend, set to surpass the Excelsior Heights’ property benchmark.
