COVID traces found in wastewater in Epping, South Morang and Wollert

Traces of the coronavirus have been detected in wastewater in Epping, South Morang and Wollert.

Residents and visitors of the areas between Saturday, April 17 and Thursday, April 22 are “strongly encouraged” to get tested for COVID-19 if they have or develop symptoms.

The Department of Health said the traces were most likely due to a person shedding the virus after the infectious period.

The news follows Victoria’s 60th consecutive day of no new locally acquired cases.
