Appeal for information following car thefts

Police are appealing for public assistance following thefts on Anzac Day.

Police are appealing for information after a series of thefts from cars in Doreen on Sunday.

Police from Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit said cars containing tools were mainly targeted in the break-ins.

The majority of the thefts occurred between 11.15pm and midnight in the Vaucluse, Riverstone, Plenty River and Ivy Estates in Doreen, police said.

A white Mitsubishi SUV and a silver Mercedes Benz sedan were observed in the area at the time, according to police.
