Campbellfield crash leaves man in hospital

A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Campbellfield this morning.

Police have been told a dual-cab ute and a tray truck collided at the intersection of Sydney and Barry roads about 5.50am.

It is believed the ute was turning from Sydney Road on to Barry Road.

The driver of the ute, yet to be identified, was been taken to hospital.

Police said the truck was travelling south on Sydney Road. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Craigieburn, was not injured and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Southbound traffic on Sydney Road was diverted onto Barry Road until shortly after 8am.
