Buses are replacing trains on the Mernda train line between Clifton Hill and Reservoir due to a track fault.

Crews are working to fix the fault, with services expected to resume when repairs are complete.

The Department of Transport has advised passengers to allow for up to 30 minutes extra travel time.

Traffic lights will be adjusted to prioritise bus movements on roads along the Mernda line.

The Department said masks must be worn when travelling on public transport, according to current public health restrictions.
