Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Bundoora on Friday morning.
The motorcycle and a Mazda sedan collided near the intersection of Cameron Parade and Sandhurst Road in Bundoora about 10am.
Senior Constable Melissa Seach said it appeared the crash happened when the motorcyclist tried to overtake the sedan as it was turning right into Sandhurst Road.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
His death takes the state’s road death toll to 43, up from 40 at the same time last year.
The female driver of the Mazda was not injured and is helping police with their inquiries.
