Tomorrow is graduation day for vocational students and schools-based apprentices at Hume Whittlesea Local Learning. Awards will be presented at RMIT’s new Bundoora lecture theatre.
Hume Valley School students Andrew Pikos and Calvin Lui are among the graduates. Andrew will get an excellence award in printing and graphic arts; Calvin’s award is in the field of warehouse operations.
Hume Whittlesea partnership broker Cemile Yuksel says many students doing years 10, 11 and 12 in VCE and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) are also enrolled in Vocational Education and Training (VET) or School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeships (SBAT) courses. These might be through a school, a TAFE college or a registered training provider.
The awards are supported by Hume and Whittlesea councils and their combined ‘youth commitments’ group.
