Emerging artists from the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) had their work recognised with a state government-endorsed award last month.
Higher Education and Skills Minister Peter Hall presented the Emerging Artist award to students at NMIT’s diploma of visual arts exhibition, Blood, Sweat and Turpentine.
Student painter Bill Beruldsen won the top prize of $500 for his work Maxine.
Runners-up Maya Suljevic and Marlene Zammit received $250 each. All three artists will have their work displayed in the minister’s office.
The exhibition is open to the public at Eckersley’s Open Space Gallery, 97 Franklin Street, Melbourne, until November 1.
