AT the end of August 40 years ago in Pascoe Vale, 16-year-old Christopher Wayne Thompson was reported missing to police.
He had last been seen after a visit to his brother’s home in Callander Road when he left the property to go for a walk, as his brother and his brother’s then-fiancee were arguing.
Mr Thompson was born at Zeehan in Tasmania, and police now believe that he may have been born with another surname, which would explain why he has not been found.
Police have established that Christopher had an older brother, Robert, and that in 1973 his parents lived in Davies or Davey Street, North Hobart.
Checks at that location have established that the street names changed and the property may in fact now be situated in Huon Street, North Hobart.
When he went missing, Mr Thompson was described as having fair skin, long orange hair and a scar on his upper left arm from an accident and resultant surgery.
Victoria Police are urging anyone who may be able to provide any information about Mr Thompson, or any other missing person, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visitcrimestoppers.com.au
