Hume City was left to rue early lapses in the National Premier League match against Pascoe Vale at Hosken Reserve on Friday night. Pascoe Vale scored three goals in the opening 16 minutes and added a fourth in the 48th minute before City got two consolation goals through Richie Cardozo from the penalty spot and John Stojcevski. City now sits seventh on the ladder. In NPL1, Whittlesea Ranges lost 2-1 to Bulleen Lions. The Lions scored the only goal of the first half before doubling the lead in the 52nd minute. Substitute Tomislav Trbuhovic got Ranges’ only goal after 75 minutes.

Darts

Junction Coosts had a 9-2 win over North Heidelberg Hawks in the Northern Darts Association’s final round of A-grade. The Coosts were joined on the winners’ list by Reservoir Bulls who beat Broadmeadows Bandits 7-4; the Shooters were too good for Cramers Legends 7-4 and Reservoir Dogs sneaked home 6-5 against Reservoir Cannons. In B-grade, Whittlesea Eagles, Whittlesea Royals, Watsonia Fill-Ins and Watsonia Saints were winners.

A goal seconds before the siren gave Northern Blues victory against Bendigo Gold on Saturday. Nicholas Holman marked 20 metres out and kicked truly to get the Blues home 14.11 (95) to 14.6 (90). Nick Graham had 30 disposals for them, with Ciaran Byrne and Jeff Garlett kicking two goals each.
