Small in size, big in taste

Delicious hot morsels of flavoursome pork, seafood and vegetables are at the heart of Phoenix City Chinese Restaurant’s new Yum Cha menu.

The family-run business at Stables Shopping Centre in Mill Park has been operating for more than 30 years, offering guests a relaxing dining experience with an extensive range of traditional Chinese and Cantonese-style cuisines to choose from.

The restaurant now has a selection of Yum Cha and Chinese tapas available from noon to 2.30pm every Saturday as part of its lunch special.

Traditionally, Yum Cha means “drinking tea” and is believed to bring luck, prosperity and wealth. Today, Yum Cha refers to dim sums or bite-sized parcels – dumplings – packed with bursting flavours.

Phoenix City owner and head chef Bruce Nguyen has more than 10 years’ experience working in Chinese restaurants.

“Customers come from all around to try the restaurant’s specialty dishes, which include Chinese and Cantonese-style pork shiu mai made of steamed pork and prawn wrapped in wonton skins,” Nguyen says.

It’s just one of an assortment of steamed and fried dumplings on offer.

Experience Yum Cha at Phoenix City Chinese Restaurant and enjoy a 10 per cent discount off your bill for a limited time.

The restaurant’s dining room seats up to 60 patrons and is suitable for birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other special occasions.
