Craigieburn man detained over weapons, drugs in car

A 29-year-old Craigeburn man has been detained after police uncovered weapons and drugs in a Mercedese Benz during a random inspection in Melbourne’s CBD on Monday morning.

Police pulled over the car on Swantson Street with four men inside just before 5am and found a firearm, drugs, shotgun shells, a machete, batons and knuckle dusters. 

Two other men from Campbellfield, aged 29 and 31, and an Epping man, 28, were released pending further inquiries.
