Vehicle impounded after speeding in Epping

A Greenvale P-plater has had his car impounded after allegedly being caught driving at more than 60km/h over the speed limit in Epping last night.

Police said Greensborough Highway Patrol officers detected a 2002 black Subaru sedan allegedly travelling at 133km/h in a 70km/h section of Edgars Road about 10pm,

Police said they intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 19-year-old probationary licence holder from Greenvale.

He is expected to be charged on summons with excessive speed and other traffic offences.

His car was impounded for 30 days with towing costs of $896.
