Men charged following alleged kidnapping

Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested a South Morang man and an Eden Park man in relation to an alleged kidnapping in Templestowe on Monday.

Police were called to a carpark in High Street, Templestowe following reports a man was assaulted before being forced into a vehicle about 7.50pm on June 7.

Detectives executed search warrants in South Morang, Eden Park and Campbellfield yesterday afternoon.

A 38-year-old South Morang man has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, common law assault, robbery, attempted robbery and numerous other charges.

A 39-year-old Eden Park man has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, common law assault, robbery, attempted robbery and other offences.

Both are scheduled to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
